more shows need to end up like last night
it was only advertised really for about a week and a lot of kids showed up. crutches and chairs were thrown. it was a blast.
if it was one of your first couple shows... bring all your friends out.. it doesn't matter if they're bros...wiggas... metalcore... or anything.. just bring them out. get them to join this forum. post flyers in your area (you can bring it to kinkos and get 50 black and whites for $5...just do it.) and if you're some new kid..introduce yourself. you can only feel excluded if you don't try talking to people. i saw tons of new kids last night just standing there by themselves. come up to someone and talk.. meet new people. you'll end up with tight new friends with common interest. fraud/pushing on/jyd have visited scenes where it seemed like there was zero potential... and scenes that could be awesome. virginia beach is definitely a scene that's already in good shape and could easily become a scene where every band wants to run through. so to sum it up... go to as many shows as possible (if it's booked far in advance... just remember to request off work). socialize. support EVERY touring band (even if you don't really like them). and have as much fun as possible.

unless you go to hickory... in which case they'll tear them down and and say they're gonna suspend you.. so you're probably better off just handing them out instead of just posting them

Good. Just join in group conversations and group hangouts outside or inside the venue. People who don't know you will probably introduce themselves or you can introduce yourself. Get to know people. It will make everything alot more fun for you and everyone else.

cause noone was getting all pissy and they were just laughing about it.. and it was kept away from the things that could be broken...so the venue wasn't at risk of being lost.

a pro active accepting scene.... clearly you guys missed the point of hardcore.
it refreshing to see this being executed, and not just talked about, young kids are often overly criticized.

It wouldn't be VBHC if there weren't fights, shit getting broken, venues shutting down and general rowdiness.

No one attacked your outside life or job and dont apologize for being an adult. Do what you gotta do. But dont include yourself in our discussions about how shows are going when you dont come.
